A ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan today to formally announce the dual nationality facility to eligible nationals of Denmark and operational in this regard. A large number of Pakistan community members, office holders of their Associations and representatives of Pakistani media attended the event.
In his remarks on the occasion, Ambassador Syed Zulfiqar Gardezi underscored the priority accorded by the government to facilitate the Pakistani community overseas. The MRP services were started in this Mission in June 2014 and with the extension of dual nationality facility, another long-standing demand of the community had been met. Ambassador Gardezi praised the support of the Foreign Affairs and the Interior Ministries, efforts of his predecessors / colleagues and the Pakistani community which helped him in fulfilling the promise made to the Pakistani community on his arrival in this country in August this year. During the ceremony, the Ambassador handed over the first Pakistani passport to a Danish national of Pakistani origin.
Members of the Pakistani community warmly welcomed the decision of the Pakistani government and appreciated that their long-standing demand had been met.
